Today Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters MP visited Bendigo Family and Financial Services Inc. (BFFS), to announce the Federal Government’s bolstered funding for its in-demand emergency relief and financial counselling programs.
BFFS will receive over $48,900 in annual emergency relief funding through their partnership with Community Information and Support Victoria (CISVic). This funding will support access to essential items such as food, clothing and fuel vouchers to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship.
BFFS also received $725,000 in additional funding for financial counselling services, through their partnership with CISVic.
BFFS have also been successful in receiving a $479,797 grant through the Financial Counselling Industry Fund (FCIF).
The increased funding will allow BFFS to employ more staff and expand their service capacity, making sure people in financial hardship can receive timely, trauma-informed financial counselling.
